In her first visit to Asia, Kundalini teacher Maya Fiennes was welcomed
with extremely well-attended workshops in all 3 cities for her '7
Chakras' tour. She taught in a refreshingly upbeat style, which opened
many to the experience of Kundalini yoga. Those who attended fell in
love with this clean teaching style and the contemporary ambience she
created, together in harmony with her own original music that she plays
during classes. Did we mention that Maya is also a musician? Or that
her CDs and DVDs were all sold out in the studios? Kundalini yoga is
great for anyone of any level, and it's also one of the best workouts
you will get. It's not your typical vinyasa asana style practice, but
focuses instead on small repetitive exercises or movements for a small
amount of time that help or serve a specific function. For example,
Maya led students through a 4-minute arm movement exercise that was
great for stimulating the adrenal glands, clearing the lymphatic system
and building immunity. Her workshops were fun, uplifting and
inspirational - a fabulous debut!
